Feel a little giving, but have nothing to give? How about some of your time and brainpower. This is a cool concept for a website. The site is www.freerice.com and as the title infers, they'll give free rice to those who need it depending on how well you do playing their little vocabulary game. Words are presented according to your vocabulary level which goes up or down depending on your progress. I was able to get to a vocabulary level of 40. See if you can beat that.

This is a not-for-profit site which donates the rice through the United Nations World Food Program.

Another Comic By Me

A couple of days ago I wrote about a great new site that allows anyone to become a cartoonist. Since then, I've become addicted to the site. It's just so well done! Here is another comic created by me at Bitstrips.com.

Announcing one of the coolest uses of the internet since Facebook!

I may be overstating it a bit, but not much, and I'm not just saying this because one of the founders is a former co-worker of mine. The site is called Bitstrips.com and it makes becoming a cartoonist easy! Don't take my word for it, see for yourself. The comic strip below was created by me using one of my past blog entries.

Now...judge not the content lest ye be judged. The simple fact that I was able to create something of this quality (characters and all) in less than an hour with little to no artistic skill is impressive. Plus there are some great tools to share your strip or embed it into a blog or other type of site.

This site is currently in BETA V 1.1 but already it's impressive. I highly recommend you give it a go. I guarantee you'll be instantly hooked.

Thriller In Philippine Prison

Filing this one under Too Much Time On Your Hands is an understatement...after all, does anyone have more time on their hands than a prison inmate?

You just have to watch this to believe it.

Incidentally, it appears that this sort of thing is part of this prison's rehabilitation program. Check out some of their other performances here. I wonder who the warden is...Arthur Murray's grandson?

Will An iPhone Blend?

I think this next site is going to be one of my favourites. Will It Blend is a website that tries to answer the age-old question of—you guessed it—whether something will blend or not.

This site is viral marketing brilliance! Why? Because it's actually an elaborate advertisement for Blendtec, makers of high quality, high powered blenders.

Brilliant because, after going through a couple of piece-of-shit blenders myself, I really want a blender that can turn an iPhone into powder. Check out the video after the jump.

Evolution

Most of you have probably already seen this video. But for the few who haven't check it out. This is Dove's uber-successful attempt at viral marketing of a few months back.

Pretty impressive right? This video cost less than $50k to make and received more than 4 million hits on YouTube. I'd say that was money well spent. Now here is the reason viral marketing works. The initial hits already made this campaign a success, but now thanks to the power of the internet and the Web 2.0 movement, the above video will enjoy even greater success. Here is why...

Kermit Does Cash Doing Reznor

I saw this video over at Mike Boon's blog and just had to repost it here. There is just so much wrong with this video that it's brilliant! I loved it! Who knew Kermit had so many problems?

It's too bad Johnny is dead, I would have loved to have seen him cover Kermit's It's Not Easy Being Green. I think he would have done a great job of capturing the angst and darkness of the song.
