The Da Vinci Code by Dan Brown
Yes I read it and yes I enjoyed it. I like Dan Brown's style and knack for suspense. Some find it annoying, predictable or base, I find it highly entertaining.
Weather or not the facts in the story are true, the book makes you ask questions of yourself and your faith.
Questioning is good. Following blindly is bad. In order for the church to grow stronger, it needs more sheep, not lemmings.
If you're easily offended, manipulated, threatened, or if you have a propensity toward burning books that offer opinions other than your own, then I don't recommend this book for you. For the rest of you, I recommend the Special Illustrated Hardcover edition. It allows you to look at the different pieces of art and architecture mentioned throughout, further adding to the immersibility of the story.
